The Ultimate IT Services Business Guide to Harness Productivity

Are you unsure about how to make the most out of your company IT and how to budget for it?
What about security, data management, software updates, internet speed and the cloud?
It can all be VERY confusing stuff!
Shift in Hacking Intentions Increases Threat
Earlier this year, Gemalto released its twice yearly Breach level Index, a database that records all publically-reported global breaches. The report found that 1,673 data breaches led to 707 million data records being compromised worldwide during 2015.
More shocking, the report found a shift in the areas most targeted by cyber-crime. In previous years, hackers sought after credit card and banking information. But now, experts are seeing an increase in attacks to retrieve information used to steal entire identities, which as Jason Hart, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Data Protection at Gemalto points out, “are much harder to remediate once they are stolen.”
The report also pointed out an increase in data breaches among government and healthcare organizations, while noting a slight drop among retail and financial services.
Regardless of the industry and threat level, it’s easy to think “it’ll never happen to me???. But as far too many companies can attest, that mentally can leave you and your organization at serious risk.
A breach in your security, no matter how small can erode the trust and credibility you’ve worked so hard to build. And as the 2016 Gemalto report warns, “trust will increasingly become the centerpiece in the calculus of which companies they (customers) do business with.”
Take the time to move IT security to the top of your to-do list and ensure your organization is prepared to protect and respond to such threats.
